Dear Fairfax High School Parents, Students, and Staff,

I am pleased to announce that Ms. Erin Lenart has been selected to serve as the Principal of Fairfax High School, effective July 2, 2018.

Most recently, Ms. Lenart served as principal of Lanier Middle School where she developed and implemented—with teacher leadership—a three-year strategic improvement plan that focused on literacy, student support opportunities, and an improved school climate. She also led the community in establishing Lanier’s Advanced Academic Center. Previously, she served as an assistant principal at West Springfield High School as well as Thoreau Middle School.

Ms. Lenart began her career in FCPS as an eighth-grade teacher at Thoreau Middle in 2009. She taught at the high school level in Georgia and Tennessee before joining FCPS. Ms. Lenart earned her bachelor of science in English at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee and her master of education in Educational Leadership at Trevecca Nazarene University. She is currently enrolled in the doctorate program in Education Leadership and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech.

Please join me in welcoming Erin Lenart as the new principal of Fairfax High School.

Sincerely,

Frances Ivey

Deputy Superintendent
