Upload a Student Portrait for the Yearbook!
Exciting news! Our yearbook publisher, Herff Jones, has implemented a software update that will allow us to accept portraits if you are unable to come in and have Lifetouch take your yearbook photo. If Lifetouch has already taken your portrait, or you are planning to have them take it, then you do not need to upload a portrait and may disregard these instructions. Our deadline to accept portraits is December 31.
COVID-19 Health Metrics
In making determinations regarding in-person instruction, FCPS will consider the Centers for Disease Control Core Indicators. View the data.
In-School Instruction – Form Needed
Parents/guardians who chose in-school instruction for their child will receive a health screening commitment form where you will agree to completing a daily health screening prior to sending your student to school. Forms must be received at school electronically or by hard copy before your child returns to in-school instruction. Students whose parent/guardian have not returned a signed form will be required to complete a health screening and have their temperature taken daily by school staff until the form is received.
Lion Time Rotation Periods
Starting on Wednesday September 30, we begin a rotation during Lion Time “period 4”. Students will be rotating through their seven classes and their Lion Time Advisory period. This rotation will allow students an extra 35-70 minutes of extra support in each of their classes monthly.

Parent Technology Help Desk
To support families who are working with their children during distance learning, Fairfax County Public Schools now has a Parent Technology Help Desk. The number is 1-833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS). It will be answered by staff 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. If the help desk is unable to solve the issue on the phone with the parent or guardian, they will enter a ticket on the parent’s behalf and the request for help will be transferred to the appropriate FCPS team.
