Last week, seniors Manish Balmarugan, Kathryn Chung and Venkat Kapoor had their project showcased at the virtual International Science Fair. 

Their project, USDL: Ultrasound Noise Reduction using Machine Learning Techniques, was the result of a two year long study that looked at improving the accuracy of ultrasounds in order to improve them as diagnostic tools for doctors   

Their project won Grand Prize at both the Fairfax High School Science Fair and the Fairfax County Regional Science Fair.
